Engineers On Course to Make Solar Powered Boat

As of July 2009 , engineers are closing in on a 100% Solar Powered boat that could be ready for its maiden voyage by next summer.

As of now, its said that the Solar Powered boat will be about 30 meters long and under construction in Germany. The boat can reportedly reach a speed of 14 knots, which would make it the fastest completely solar powered boat on record.

According to published reports tha Solar Powered Boat will be able to cross the entire Atlantic Ocean in just 2 weeks. For now it is being tested in European waters – and the engineers actually plan on taking it around the World Someday.

How far we have come with this solar energy.

I remember when a solar calculator or solar watch was something out of this world. Now we power our homes and businesses, cars and boats and who knows whats next.
